Biography
Ertuğrul Turgay is a Mechanical Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt and Operational Excellence consultant with more than 25 years of experience in the automotive and manufacturing industries.
Throughout his career he has held management roles in production management, plant management, lean manufacturing, quality, engineering, technology management and digital transformation, leading manufacturing organisations that supply global automakers such as Renault, Ford and Stellantis.
As Plant Manager and Operations Leader at Martur Fompak, he led initiatives to increase production capacity, grow exports, improve efficiency and roll out lean manufacturing systems. Before that, as head of the Technology Department, he integrated Industry 4.0 applications — robotics, automation, AGV systems, machine vision, data analytics and predictive maintenance — into production processes.
At Orhan Holding he served as Engineering & Quality Manager and Six Sigma Black Belt. Over his career he has led numerous projects in OEE improvement, quality improvement, labour productivity, line optimisation, 5S, TPM, Kaizen and continuous improvement, delivering measurable performance gains.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate of Yıldız Technical University, Turgay completed his MBA at Bahçeşehir University.
Through Opexera, which he founded in 2025, he provides consulting and training in Operational Excellence, Lean, WCM, TPM, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation. His core aim is to bring people, processes and technology together to build sustainable efficiency and a culture of continuous improvement — and to support young engineers in becoming the operational excellence and transformation leaders of the future.
